Dahlke.TwinCAT.Ads: Talk to TwinCAT controllers cleanly from .NET

Dahlke.TwinCAT.Ads connects .NET applications to Beckhoff TwinCAT PLCs via ADS. You read and write variables by symbol name with ordinary .NET types, without writing low-level ADS code.

Features

Dahlke.TwinCAT.Ads

Typed access

ReadValueAsync<T> and WriteValueAsync<T>. PLC structs, function blocks, unions and arrays map to records, classes and structs.

Stable connections

One object per PLC. If the connection drops, the library reconnects by itself and the handle stays the same.

Live subscriptions

Changes are reported, even after a reconnect. Optionally as IObservable<T> streams.

Alarms

Read open PLC alarms, get notified of changes and acknowledge alarms (optional package).

Batch, RPC and EtherCAT

Several accesses in one round trip, PLC method calls, and diagnostics for EtherCAT master and slaves.

Test without a PLC

Simulation mode and test helpers, so tests need no TwinCAT installation.
